Why convert FB2

Few mainstream apps open FB2. Windows, macOS, iPhone and most printers do not, so a PDF is the quickest way to read or share the book on an ordinary device.

What carries across

FB2 marks up the structure of a book: sections, titles, epigraphs, poems and images. Calibre turns that structure into formatted pages.

Fixed pages

A PDF has a set page size, so the text no longer reflows. That suits printing and desktop reading. On a small phone a reflowable format such as EPUB is more comfortable.

How it works

  1. 01

    Upload your FB2

Drop a file or pick one from your device. Private by default.

  2. 02

    Convert with Calibre

Calibre reads the FictionBook XML and lays it out onto fixed PDF pages.

  3. 03

    Download

    Grab your PDF.

Private uploads, auto-deleted after 1 hour

No watermark, no signup to try

Open-source Calibre engine

FB2 to PDF

This re-flows the book into PDF, carrying chapters, the table of contents and images. Reflowable ebook formats adapt to the reader's screen and font size. Heavy fixed layouts (comics, textbooks) convert less cleanly.

Common questions

Is it free?+

Yes. Convert FB2 to PDF free. No signup and no watermark. Free covers 10 server conversions a day, up to 100 MB a file. Pro removes the daily limit and raises the file limit to 2 GB.

Is my file private?+

Your file is uploaded to a private bucket, converted on our own engine, and auto-deleted after 1 hour. It is never sent to a third-party converter.

What is an FB2 file?+

FictionBook is an XML ebook format that is especially popular in Russia and Eastern Europe. Many free library and public-domain books are distributed as FB2.

Will Cyrillic text display correctly?+

FB2 files are Unicode, and Calibre carries the text into the PDF as text. Results depend on the fonts the book asks for, so check a few pages before printing.
