Get Help With FileWhirl

Last updated: 24 August 2026

FileWhirl is a file-conversion service operated by TranscriptAI Pty Ltd (Australia). If something has gone wrong with a conversion, or you have a question this page does not answer, email hello@filewhirl.com and a human will read it.

01Contact us

Email hello@filewhirl.com. It is the fastest way to reach us and it is monitored by the people who build FileWhirl.

We answer as quickly as we reasonably can. FileWhirl is run by a small team, so we would rather set that expectation honestly than promise a response time we cannot guarantee.

02What to include in a report

A conversion problem is much easier to fix when we can reproduce it. Where you can, please tell us:

  • which tool you used, or the address of the page you were on;
  • the source format and the format you were converting to;
  • roughly how large the file was, and where it came from;
  • what happened, and what you expected instead;
  • your browser and operating system, and any error message shown.

Please do not attach confidential files. If we need the file to reproduce a fault we will ask, and you are free to say no.

03Things worth trying first

Most reports we receive are one of these:

  • The page stopped responding on a large file. Conversions run in your browser, so a very large file competes with everything else the browser is doing. Closing other tabs, or converting on a desktop rather than a phone, often resolves it.
  • The output is not the quality you expected. Some conversions are inherently approximate — OCR, scanned PDFs, complex office layouts and speech-to-text especially. See the note below.
  • The tool refused the file. Check the source file opens correctly in its own application first; a file that is already damaged cannot be converted.
  • Nothing happened at all. A browser extension blocking scripts or storage will stop a conversion silently. Try again in a private window with extensions disabled.

04Conversion quality

Conversion is provided on a best-effort basis. Results depend on your source file, and some conversions are approximate by nature. We aim for the best quality available from established engines rather than guaranteeing a perfect result — this is set out in full in our Terms of Service. If a conversion is clearly wrong rather than merely imperfect, please do tell us: that is a bug and we want it.

05Your files and privacy

How your files are handled, what is stored and for how long is covered in our Privacy Policy. If you have a privacy question or want to make a request about your data, email hello@filewhirl.com and say so in the subject line so it reaches the right person.

06Plans and billing

What each plan includes, and the limits that apply, are listed on our Pricing page. For a billing question — a charge you do not recognise, a refund, or cancelling — email hello@filewhirl.com with the date and amount and we will sort it out.
