- Open the developer tools: press F12 in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on Windows, or Cmd+Option+I on a Mac, then choose the Network tab.
- Clear the list, then add your PDF and run Organize PDF.
- Look at the requests that appear. An upload would be a request at least as large as your file; sort by size to find it.
What we saw when we did this on Merge PDF with two small PDFs: the browser fetched one script file of this site's own code (the PDF engine), and sent one message of about one kilobyte with page speed and engagement figures. No request carried either PDF, and the merged file was built and downloaded in the browser.
Common questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The page previews and the finished PDF are both made in your browser with a local PDF engine. Your file, its pages and its name stay on your device.
How do I reorder pages?
Drag a page by its handle and drop it where it belongs. On a phone or with a keyboard, open the page menu and choose Move earlier, Move later or Move to position.
Can I rotate or delete pages?
Yes. Rotate any page in quarter turns, and remove pages you do not need. A removed page stays greyed out so you can restore it. At least one page has to stay.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Undo and redo cover every move, rotation and removal until you replace or clear the file. Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y work too.
Does it keep quality?
Yes. Pages are copied as they are, with no re-compression, so text stays sharp and selectable.
Is there a page limit?
No set limit. Previews are drawn a few at a time as you scroll, so long documents stay responsive. Very large files depend on your device's memory.
