Common questions

Will it lose quality?+

We re-encode only the trimmed section at high quality so the cut is frame-accurate (copying without re-encoding can only cut on keyframes, which makes the start jumpy). For most footage the change is imperceptible.

What formats can I trim?+

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI, M4V and more — anything ffmpeg reads. The clip comes back in the same format you uploaded.

Is there a watermark or signup?+

No watermark, no signup. Free, with generous file sizes up to 2 GB.

Is my video private?+

Yes. It's uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed on our own engine with no third-party APIs, and the upload and result are deleted within one hour.

How do I enter the times?+

Use mm:ss (like 1:30) or plain seconds (like 90). Scrub the preview player to find the exact moments you want.
