Fill a PDF form. Privately.

Type into the boxes, tick the boxes, pick from the dropdowns, then lock it all in if you want to. It happens in your browser, so the details you just typed are never uploaded.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add the form

Drop in a PDF form, or click to browse. It stays on your device.

  2. 02

    Type your answers

Every fillable field is listed with whatever it already holds, ready to edit.

  3. 03

    Download

Optionally lock the answers in, then save. Nothing is uploaded.

Already filled it elsewhere? Flatten PDF locks the answers in on its own. More PDF tools: Sign · Add text · Merge · Split · Organize · Protect · Compress.

Check it yourself: your file is not uploaded

You do not have to take our word for it. Your browser can show you every request this page makes.

  1. Open the developer tools: press F12 in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on Windows, or Cmd+Option+I on a Mac, then choose the Network tab.
  2. Clear the list, then add your PDF and run Fill PDF Form.
  3. Look at the requests that appear. An upload would be a request at least as large as your file; sort by size to find it.

What we saw when we did this on Merge PDF with two small PDFs: the browser fetched one script file of this site's own code (the PDF engine), and sent one message of about one kilobyte with page speed and engagement figures. No request carried either PDF, and the merged file was built and downloaded in the browser.

Common questions

Are my files uploaded?+

No. The form is read and written entirely in your browser with a local PDF engine. A form usually carries your name, address or bank details, so this one matters: none of it leaves your device.

Which fields can it fill?+

Text boxes, checkboxes, radio button groups and dropdowns. Signature and push-button fields are listed but can't be typed into. We show them rather than hiding them, so you can see the whole form.

Do I need Acrobat?+

No. Anything that can open this page can fill the form. That's the point: PDF forms often refuse to save answers in a browser's built-in viewer, and paid readers push you to sign up.

What does 'lock the answers in' do?+

It flattens the form: your values are drawn into the page and the editable fields are removed, so the person you send it to can't change them. Leave it off if you want to keep editing later.

My PDF has no fields to fill.+

Then it's a flat document rather than an interactive form, and we say so instead of pretending. To write on it anyway, use Add Text to PDF, which stamps text anywhere on the page.

Is there a limit?+

No artificial caps. Free, unlimited, no signup or watermark.
