Common questions
Why 5 MB?+
5 MB is one of the most common email-attachment and upload limits. It's generous enough to keep image quality high while getting a scanned or photo-heavy PDF under the cap.
Will my text stay readable?+
Yes. We only reduce the resolution of embedded images. The text and vector graphics are kept as-is, so the document stays crisp and selectable.
How much can it shrink?+
It depends on the images inside. Scanned documents and photo-heavy PDFs often drop a lot; a text-only PDF is already small, so we'll tell you and hand back the smallest safe version.
Is my PDF private?+
It's uploaded over an encrypted connection, compressed on our server, and both the upload and the result are deleted after 1 hour. No account, no watermark.
Is there a watermark?+
No watermark and no signup. Image-heavy and scanned PDFs are exactly what this is built for.
