Why 5 MB?+
5 MB is a common attachment cap on support forms, school portals and some chat and email services.
How long can the video be?+
5 MB is small. Clips under a minute usually look fine. The audio keeps 128 kbps and the picture gets the rest, so the longer the clip, the softer the picture. Past about three and a half minutes the file cannot fit 5 MB at all, so trim it first.
Which formats work?+
MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM. The result keeps the same format: MP4, MOV and MKV come back as H.264 with AAC audio, and WebM as VP9 with Opus.
Is my video private?+
It's uploaded over an encrypted connection, compressed on our server, and both the upload and the result are deleted after 1 hour.
