Why 1 MB?+
1 MB is a common cap for voice notes on forms, support tickets, school portals and some chat apps.
How long can the audio be?+
About two minutes fits at 64 kbps, which is clear for speech. The lowest bitrate we use is 32 kbps, so audio longer than about four minutes cannot fit 1 MB. Trim it first or pick a larger target.
Which formats work?+
MP3, M4A, AAC and OGG, and the result keeps the same format. WAV and FLAC are lossless, so a bitrate cannot shrink them: convert them to MP3 first, then compress.
Is my audio private?+
It's uploaded over an encrypted connection, compressed on our server, and both the upload and the result are deleted after 1 hour.
Is it free?+
Yes, with no watermark and no signup. Free covers 10 server conversions a day, up to 100 MB a file. Pro removes the daily limit and raises the file limit to 2 GB.
