Convert TGA to JPG.
Turn a Targa (TGA) texture, render or screenshot into a JPG that opens in any app or website.
Share a render or texture
A TGA straight out of Blender, a game engine or a capture tool is often tens of megabytes and will not preview on most phones or websites. A JPG is a fraction of the size and opens everywhere.
Quality
The JPG is a standard lossy encode, well suited to renders and photographic textures. For a texture you will keep editing, or one that needs its alpha channel, keep the TGA.
Size change
Uncompressed and RLE-compressed TGA files are large. Expect the JPG to be many times smaller.
How it works
- 01
Upload your TGA
Drop a file or pick one from your device. Private by default.
- 02
Convert with Pillow
Pillow decodes the Targa image and saves it as a JPG.
- 03
Download
Grab your JPG.

Much smaller than an uncompressed TGA

TGA to JPG: smaller, lossy
JPG uses lossy compression tuned for photographs, so the file gets much smaller while staying visually close to the original. It has no transparency (transparent areas fill with a solid colour), so it suits photos rather than logos or line art.
Common questions
Is it free?+
Yes. Convert TGA to JPG free. No signup and no watermark. Free covers 10 server conversions a day, up to 100 MB a file. Pro removes the daily limit and raises the file limit to 2 GB.
Is my file private?+
Your file is uploaded to a private bucket, converted on our own engine, and auto-deleted after 1 hour. It is never sent to a third-party converter.
What happens to the alpha channel?+
JPG has no transparency, so the alpha channel in a 32-bit TGA is not kept. Only the colour channels are converted.
Where do TGA files come from?+
Game engines, 3D renderers, older video editing suites and some screenshot tools write TGA. It is simple and lossless, but large and poorly supported outside those tools.
